Established on February 16, 2004, with an approval of Civil
Affairs Administration of Jiangsu Province, Jiangsu Chamber of
Commerce of Import & Export is a non-Governmental and
non-profitable body.
The main function of the Chamber is:
- Promote and implement policies, laws, statutes, principles and
regulations of foreign trade and economic and technical
cooperation of the Chinese Central Government and Jiangsu
Province, enhance the business relations and coordination
between the government departments in charge and chamber
members, to get to know and settle the requirements and
suggestions as well as their own troubles.
- Coordinate relations between other chamber of commerce and the
member enterprises of the province and undertake relevant
activities of other chambers of commerce.
- Organize the member enterprises to attend commodities fair/s,
exhibitions, business and investment discussions both at home
and abroad, assist and help the member enterprises to open up
the international markets;
- Organize the overseas study tour of the chamber members,
promote business opportunities, sales¡Mpurchase and exchange
activities and provide relevant services to the chamber members.
- Organize, undertake and assist the enterprises to conduct anti
dumping and anti monopoly and countervailing activities, and
make necessary preparations to sue and defend the enterprises
from harm.
- Provide chamber members with relevant policies, laws,
statutes, principles, regulations and market information of the
international trade and foreign economic and technical
cooperation, as well as safeguard and promote the reputation and
image of the famous brands of the products of the member
enterprises, collect and publish the chamber¡¦s monthly
periodical and other relevant information. .
- Organize and hold training courses, experience exchange
activities of chamber members to improve the quality of
management and administration.
- Establish service system to improve the ability of the chamber
members, timely provide all kinds of business consultation of
the international markets to them as well as reform and legal
consultation of certification and intellectual property right
protection.
- Implement the norms and regulations of the trade, instruct and
supervise the chamber members to perform in accordance with the
law and principles of the Chinese government.
- Accept the authorization of the law and norms and other
activities entrusted by the government
Jiangsu Chamber of Commerce of Import & Export is direct under
the jurisdiction of Department of Foreign Trade and Economic
Cooperation, Jiangsu. There is a president and 19 vice
presidents under the chamber, and all nominated by
entrepreneurs. The chamber members are composed of the
production enterprises, state-run and private enterprises as
well as joint venture enterprises. The structure of the Chamber
of Commerce divides into two categories, namely permanent and
non-permanent. The permanent members are Membership Division,
Foreign trade Division, Foreign Economic and Technical
Cooperation Division, Shippers Transportation Division,
Information and Legal Consultation Division, International
Commercial Documents Training & Examination Center, Overseas
Labor Service Training & Examination Center, while non-permanent
members are: Machinery & Electric Equipments, Metals & Minerals
& Chemicals Import & Export Branch, Textile & Garments Import &
Export Branch, International Projects Contracting Branch,
Foodstuffs, Native Products & Animals by-Products & Medicines &
Health Products Import & Export Branch, Light Industry & Arts
and Crafts Import & Export Branch, Shippers Transportation
Branch, Business Administration Branch as well as the small and
medium sized enterprises for import and export.
